    Muck spreader chains

Can anyone tell me whether rotor spreader chains are any special kind of steel like hi tensile or hardened? Need to replace Hispec chains and was wondering if galv chain of the same dimensions would do the job? It would make it a lot cheaper than the 500 I keep getting quoted 😳 thanks

I believe they're case-hardened. We used to get them from Kramp, through the local Agric Engineer.
Can't remember how much they were, though. We run a Dual Spreader now.

I think ordinary chain would stretch too quickly

Marine grade chain like used for the floor chains on rear discharge spreaders would do the job.
Don't itch for something if you're not prepared to scratch for it.
