    Plants have "body clocks"

    Knowing this could be useful to enhance the effectiveness of herbicides.

    First thing in the morning - stands to reason. A lot of plants "close up" during the night to protect their "sensitive" parts then open up as the day begins to capture any moisture / dew which has formed over night.

    more susceptible to chemicals stands to reason
