    Lamb Paralysed?

    Hi,

I have a lamb of about a month old. Good strong thing. It's twin doing well too.

This morning I found it basically unable to use its hind legs, as if it was paralysed. The animal doesn't seem to be in pain and is keen to feed and can pull itself along with it's front legs.

I have no doubt I'll have to put it down but just wondering whether someone knows what could have caused this?

    Many thanks.

I'd also suspect an accident of some kind if it came on overnight as it were.
Swayback can be barely detectable at first but affect them more after a few weeks, the onset is more gradual though.
You might speculate a growth suddenly trapping the spinal cord.
Meningitis may be worth considering, in which case antibiotic jabs could be worth trying - but there would need to be some improvement by day three.
