    flooding

see news reports of the flooding associated with the storm - Just wondering if any of the members of the forum are directly impacted?

Is there anything other nearby members could do to help?

Cannot speak for other members, but like all farmers in this country just now, we are all being affected, to a greater or lesser degree. I am not being flooded to the extent that some are. Here we are about 50 feet above sea level, not on a flood plain, so no catastrophic flood. However, like all farmers in the area we are looking at very difficult times. Holderness is basically low level, heavy clay, with what we call wet holes in every field where the water ponds.
We have only got about a third of our crops planted as it has rained since September. Fields are extremely wet, they will struggle to dry out for spring sowing. Therefore, next harvest is going to be very poor, no matter what we do.
I am 85 years old, I have never seen anything like this before, ever.
