    Adverts appearing in posts

I was a bit concerned to see an advert appear in a post I made yesterday.
I have no issue with adverts, as the forum must pay for itself in some way, but I rather hope that such an ad, does not appear that I am, in any way endorsing these products.

Stephen - likewise I don't know how they are getting there - when you look close it is a "Google advert" - the add at the top of the screen is also a "google advert".
The moderators probably know but i suspect the site must be one of Google's "free" sites.

guess "free" doesn't mean what it used to mean, eH?

I'm only seeing ads at the top and bottom they are selected by google and probably show something you searched for or already bought because google knows everything
That's with chrome it does seem to block some things without being specifically asked to.

I have seem some 'helpful' browser add-ons will try to show adverts related to text on a page, typically they piggy backed with something else downloaded - not exactly malicious but you might find an unexplained program you can remove via control panel or in your browser add-on settings.

This is what I'm seeing via the firefox browser and with being logged into google (its actually clearer on screen than this!)

In the top RH corner of the ad is a blue arrowhead and a cross, left click the arrowhead and it will open up a link to Google ad choices shown below

Here you can tell google your not happy with what you are seeing and there may be a degree of "training" required to get it in line with what you want to see.

Things may be different with other browsers.
The best thing about Facebook is the logout button......

Hmm.. I must have ticked the incorrect box - there are more ads now! Not happy!

I have always had a policy never to click on any box, that is how you import viruses
