Zetor 6718 brake rebuild

Historically bad breaks on these old girls but I would like to rectify that. At the moment I do have some breaking eventually. How difficult a job is it getting at the shoes on these things?

Need to get the portals off which may entail jacking up the cab at the rear by a couple of inches. Portals are heavy (couple of cwt or so) & unbalanced. Prob need some help as well as an engine crane, once off it's straightforward, both handbrake band & shoes/cylinders. There used to be a good forum on www.zetorworld.com which had a sticky post about doing the job as well as a huge archive of technical help, , but the forum hasn't been working since they opened a Facebook forum which is poor & has the usual useless Facebook search & retrieval facilities.
