    Straw chopping

Been chopping wheat straw today, we've had quite a lot to do this month, clearing up all the straw we couldn't get baled because of all the wet weather we've endured...

We put the 8 m Tedder through ours at a 45 degree angle then did it again the opposite direction.. It's smashed it up a treat. One field we put the flail topper through which chopped it up well but still left it in a row.. So we put the stubble rake across it and its ploughed in ok...

Spud... I did think with all the dust today (dust? whats that??) that it may well soon bale as it wasn't a real heavy crop, but this wasn't straw I'd taken and the guy wanted to plough Monday, hence getting us to chop it.
