Raking at night for slug control

Bit of wild and fanciful idea but some other loon mentioned it not so long ago so I have at least one companion. Is this at all a sensible idea? Will it kill all the earthworms as well?

I haven't researched this at all so it may be my most stupid question to date.

Also at the risk of displaying further obtuseness if one wants to cause black-grass seeds to chit does rolling after raking help or is this one (or possibly two) recreational tillage pass too many?

Can you tell I'm a bit new to the whole raking game?

I thought it was the ultra-violet rays from sunlight which kill slug eggs and blackgrass
