    800kw turbine

Anyone have any idea what the gross income will be from 800kw turbine?

    thanks in advance

A lot will depend on your windspeed. If you can get around 7.0 m/s at hub height an 800Kw Turbine should produce around 2,400,000Kw per year After November Fit rate is 9.5p per Kw and 4.5p Export( more if you enter a PPA) so your Gross Income should be around 336,0000 per Year

Is that right? it seems an amazing amount! we have wind speed of around 8m/s and is considered a good site.

    thanks

Its the planning for that size of Turbine is the problem, also Grid Connection

You can easily be looking at 1.3M for the project, 8M/S is a brilliant Windspeed an 800KW will produce over 2,600,000Kw per year I would have thought.

I have planning in for a second 800Kw so got fingers and toes crossed!!!!

    why 800kw.
Downsize ( or downrate) to 500kw and see how the financials stack up!!

GOES COMPLETELY AGAINST WHAT WE ARE BEING TOLD TO DO IE PRODUCE GREEN ENERGY, BUT WILL EARN US MORE!!!!

Ofgem are reviewing the derating issue, it is the definition of "Total Installed Capacity"and " Declared Net Capacity" that is causing the problem. The manufacturer has to prove that the DNC is the maximum capacity at which the installation can be operated for a sustained period without causing damage to it (assuming the source of power used by it to generate electricity was available to it without interruption) less the amount of electricity that is consumed by the plant

My intention is hopefully derate Turbine 1 to 500KW then install second Turbine at 800Kw.The rules state that Turbine 1 would be eligable for the 500KW Banding Turbine 2 would in the 500-1.5Mw Banding.

If they were both installed together they would both be in the 500KW - 1.5Mw Banding

    Crazy Rules!!!

Is anyone on here going through accredditation at the moment for a derated Turbine?

there is also the reason of being derated to comply with environmental concearns, i.e to comply with noise issues. A derated turbine is less noisy than one that isn't.

dont personally agree with derating turbines and suspect that at decent wind speed profiles the loss of output will be roughly the same as the extra income from higher tariff, especially as time moves on and the sale of electric becomes more a portion of the income generated.
