    Re: New TB Testing

I think it is the same yes.

will also add that I think all realism is not lost as I am hearing that a lot of these jobs will be subbed out to vets anyway, that is what my practice are hoping.

    Re: Ragwort in hay

Pull anything flowering this year, put sheep on it tight in the spring. Sheep nibble the core of the rosette out and kill the plant, they love it and no harm will come to them.

    You will not see...

Re: how long do beef stock bulls last

Does the dominance/effectiveness of their genes reduce as they get older? Thinking this may be the reason we have had so many Caesars this year. Still having a few even now if you saw my post a...

Re: How do you humanely destroy a lamb / calf?

I was looking forward to some educated and practical solutions to the OP's question. Probably won't happen after the above alarmist comment. Oh well I'll just go find that hammer, big stick, dung...

    Re: Mengele SH40 front bearing

    Most excellent post! Thank you.

Couple questions if I may, most of which I will probably find the answer when I have a go anyhow.
-our sprocket appears to be held on with a circlip not a bolt, I...

Re: Massive calf problem, beef cows.

Thanks guys, you are all about right. They have been on pretty good grass and it is a schoolboy error on my part. Cows do calve better in worse nick than too good.

We have had them shut up...

make sure they have sorted the diesel in the sump issue and the dodgy fuel filter issue on top of the bad service related to those troubles.

    Re: Mengele SH40 front bearing

I would guess it would be:

    -paddles off
    -three blades at least off
-spout & top flywheel cover off
    - rear bearing realeased
-circlip removed from front to remove sprocket
    - slide flywheel...

Thought about that and discussed it with the vet whilst unzipping one! He says it can be done but very often the cow will be very lazy at pushing and every one will need a tug most likely. That...

    Re: jcb 526 reversing bleep

But they do actually do some good work for farmers, you included even if it appears you don't pay! I and others are paying for the NFU to work on your behalf as well as ours.
