Royal Topper - wot no guards?

Just seen on Countryfile a royal Ford topping = driven by William?

Beggars belief that behind the output shaft everything is either unguarded or rotating nicely....
Money isn't everything - but it sure helps to keep the children in touch

Noticed that as well. One shaft a broken not good but I don't think on shaft on that machine would pass inspection by HSE.

Also got the impression that much of the Yorkshire boarding had been recently replaced for the cameras

Maybe they were trying to prove that they are down with the kids and keeping it real. Probably a new one driven by a butler parked round the back.Maybe the royals are thinking that 2 car crashes would look a bit suspicious so have arranged a farm accident instead? Where was his brother when the topper missed it's annual service ?

Seriously though - how can this happen? That was not some subtle defect that drove across my screen - it was a full on serious accident that could very easily result in a fatality.

Am I over-reacting? Do others here run their pto's like that? All that bloody money and yet you see things like that. And what was the Countryfile team doing editing that clip in - did they not notice?

    Bizarre

Not sure that the Countryfile team know much about the countryside other than it's out of town, has green fields and is full of animals!!! Would they recognise a PTO shaft if it hit them on the head? I'm not so sure!!!!

I suspect for most on the forum it's a case of "people in glass houses" I do my best to keep guards maintained but they do have a habit of falling to bits.

It did not say that prince William was working at Gatcombe when he was topping . The clip looks 10 years old.
Might have been doing a nixer for a local farmer
