    Frothing slurry

    Does mixing a little diesel through the slurry really stop it frothing

    I would say yes, but it will be dependant on how much you put in.
    We have used diesel as an antifoaming agent in footbaths, ideal when you run out of antifoam chemical.

    In my experience aeration would make it worse. There is a technical answer, there are things called foam (or froth?) detectors,that can trigger a spray of an anti-foaming agent. Diesel shoud work, but as has ben said, it is not environmentally friendly. The obstacle, as always, is cost!
